About: Emile Dixon
As a professor of Architecture at Ball State University and the owner HEEK Group in Indianapolis, Indiana. My academic career started at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama, as an assistant professor of architecture in the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science. I received my Master of Architecture from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. My thesis “Designing for the Forgotten: Eliminating the Stigma of Affordable Housing.” During my undergraduate career I was influence by my incredible mentor and other professors in the BSU architecture program, understanding the social justice paradigm of architecture and design. During my formative years, I have learned that architecture could allow me to change the landscape through design suggestions that could improve the quality of life, particularly in the distressed inner-city neighborhood surrounding him. He is a proud Aluma of the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University (BSU) in Muncie, Indiana.
